How this project was approached.

The context and problem this project set out to address.

Panjab Boulevard is a Punjabi media brand creating original podcasts on culture, current affairs, storytelling and ideas, including Boulevard Talks, Boohe Baariyaan, NoorAI, Jeevani, Underworld and Turdya Turdya. We designed and developed the Panjab BLVD mobile app for both iOS and Android from a single React Native codebase. The backend runs on Supabase, with PostgreSQL for data and Supabase Authentication for secure sign-in, including email and Google login. The app lets listeners discover shows through Latest Episodes, Top Podcasts and New & Trending sections, stream episodes with a full-featured audio player, and save content to their personal library. It supports both free and premium episodes and fully supports Gurmukhi (Punjabi script) content throughout.

  • 01We built a single cross-platform app with React Native that runs natively on both platforms.
  • 02We implemented full Gurmukhi text support for titles, descriptions and episode details.
  • 03We integrated Supabase Authentication with email/password, Google sign-in and password recovery.
  • 04We built role-based content access in Supabase so premium episodes are available only to eligible users.
  • 05We used Supabase with PostgreSQL to manage podcasts, episodes, users and libraries in a structured way.
  • 06We designed a Home screen with Latest Episodes, Top Podcasts and New & Trending sections.
  • 07We built a full audio player with a seek bar, play/pause, previous/next and an episode queue.
